BIOGRAPHY OF THE REVEREND ADRIAN DESHON REID, SR.

Reverend Adrian DeShon Reid, Sr. was born on August 10, 1988, the second of four children to Bishop M. Edward Reid and Ms. Charrise K. Reid. His love for preaching emerged at an early age, delivering his first sermon at just 4 years old. At 7, he made a personal decision to follow Christ, beginning a lifelong journey of ministry and faith. On November 28, 1998, at the age of 10, he was licensed to preach at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Arverne, New York, where his father served as pastor.

In addition to preaching, he is also a gifted singer, songwriter, and musician. His ministry career began at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where he served as Associate Minister and Youth Pastor from 1998 to 2006. From 2006 to 2018, he served as Associate Minister and Youth Minister at Greater Second Baptist Church in Freeport, New York, under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Eric Charles Mallette. On June 29, 2008, he was ordained, marking a major milestone in his ministerial path.

Rev. Reid’s educational background includes an Associate in Liberal Arts: Humanities and Sciences from Nassau Community College (2015), a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy & Religion with honors (with a minor in Congregational Leadership) from SUNY College at Old Westbury (2019), and a Master of Divinity from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University (2024). Currently, he is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Preaching from the Clamp Divinity School at Anderson University

On September 30, 2018, he was called to serve as the third and youngest pastor in the fifty-year history of New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Brentwood, New York. His leadership brought about significant growth in the church, both spiritually and numerically. He also served as Co-Chairman of the Late Night Services for the Empire Baptist Missionary Convention of New York, Inc. under Dr. Carl L. Washington, Jr. After five years of dedicated service at New Jerusalem, he accepted a new pastoral call on September 29, 2023, to lead New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Tampa, Florida. Since his arrival, the church has experienced renewed spiritual and numerical growth. He was also appointed Southeast Regional Director for the School of the Prophets (Young Pastors and Ministers Division) of the National Baptist Convention, U.S.A., Inc. under the leadership of Dr. Boise Kimber.

He considers his marriage to the former Ms. Erin Lillie Gray one of his greatest achievements. Together, they are the proud parents of four sons: Adrian DeShon, Jr., Austin Dean, Ashton Daniel, and Aycen Drew Reid.

His ministry is anchored in the belief that "It's not about me, but it's all about Christ!" This guiding principle shapes his commitment to keeping Jesus Christ at the heart of his preaching, teaching, and personal life.
